Would start by saying that to call "gray" The Working Line's German Shepherd Dog is wrong, since there are also blacks and tan and totally blacks. The gray and black are just variations of the color of the coat of Gsd permitted by the standard.

What allows us to distinguish the true German Shepherd from work is only shown on the pedigree genealogy, because now for several decades there is a real dichotomy between the two lines of blood (from the show line and the work line), almost to give the impression of two distinct breeds.

The main features of Working Line German shepherd are an extreme correctness in character , accompanied by excellent temper and temperament that makes them stand out in various sports. Even in morphology of Sable GSD differs from the "brother" black and tan for a lower exasperation of angles and he looks more like the German Shepherd created by the founder of the breed, Max von Stephanitz.

Working line

The German shepherd dog is a great dog to practice the discipline of utility and defense (abbreviated UD) which showcases all of its main characteristics:

-The Concentration

-The Docility

-Self-Control

-The Relationship with the owner.

The concentration is evident in section A (track), where the dog must follow a track on the ground, even for long stretches (see evidence FH) and find objects placed on it. The dog must do its job quietly and without distraction on any terrain and in any weather.

Docility is instead a feature (among others) that is highlighted in the section B (obedience), where our German Shepherd has to perform certain exercises on command of the handler and show joy and desire in the execution of the various tests. Among the various tests in the phase B there is also the indifference towards strangers harmless and the proof of the shot .

The self-control and temperament of the German Shepherd are tested in section C (defense), where the dog has to control himself to avoid biting the sleeve when the helper is stationary and therefore does not represent a threat and be, instead, effective and responsive when the latter is put in place.

The relationship with the owner is essential in all phases of the test, as in everyday life, and causes the dog trust us and, consequently, performs what he is asked to do and he do so with joy and not by coercion . To achieve this, it is necessary that the owner should establish rules and maintain a consistent behavior already with the puppy, the Working German Shepherd dog is temperamentally strong and he as the ability to learn quickly, unfortunately also the errors !

All these features taken together allow us to have a dog that is very self-confident, decided and temperamentally very balanced

Thanks to these qualities, the our Sable German Shepherd Dog is widely used in civil protection, research dispersed on the surface and in the rubble, and by the police for various uses.

Despite his ability to work, our GSD can live quietly in the family, even in the presence of children, provided there is proper management of its vitality. He needs to exercise, is even some running in a meadow, always with the complicity of his human friend.

In conclusion, those who had the pleasure of living with a sable gsd , no longer had the desire to change breed ... There must be a reason, no ?
