THE COLOUR OF THE GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG

THE PANDA SHEPHERD DOG

The Panda Shepherd Dog is a breed bred  in USA. The spotted coloration occurred in a single litter of German Shepherd in a puppy named Frankie (Lewcinkas Franka Von Phenom). E '35% white, the rest of the color is black and brown, in their offspring has no German shepherds Bianchi (Swiss pastor). It is a spontaneous genetic mutation of a recessive gene, parents that have produced the first model had a black German Shepherd and a black and tan, the rest of the litter was painted with a "normal" the only puppy black / light brown / and white with blue eyes was

Frankie. In order to protect the image of his breeding, the breeder who founded the race, Cindy Mccann, he brought the puppy dappled all 'Ohio State University Veterinary Hospital for testing of genetic DNA to discover the exact cause of the anomaly. The parents of the puppies have been confirmed as German Shepherds, no white or other races in their lines. Frankie was the first examplary of German shepherd (recognized only dall'AKC) who was born with spotted coloration.

The same father and the broodmare that produced the puppy dappled were mated three times and all puppies are born with the traditional black color and brown. There have been many genetictests on the coat color of  puppy dappled. Frankie was coupled and four cubs were born, three have turned white black/ light brown, but lacked blue eyes, while the fourth puppy was born with the traditional black color and brown .The Panda Shepherd Dog is NOT recognized by the German Shepherd Dog's standard FCI , The PSD are regularly raised in america as A BREED APART  recognized by AKC ( American Kennel Club ) . They never  detected healt problems associated with this genetic mutation. as they have never been detected health problems for the other colors not allowed, see Blue, Liver and also the White (which is not a mutation of a gene but is simply a double recessive fawn [ ee ] now recognized as White Swiss Shepherd )
